After successfully operating through 50 shop-in-shops across the country and six exclusive outlets in Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune, footwear brand Tresmode is all set to expand to the NCR region. Already retailing and adding 10 new MBOs at the start of this financial year, Tresmode now plans to raise the count by another 10 points-of-sale that will include three to four exclusive brand outlets in the NCR region.
Speaking more on Tresmode's foray into the market of the NCR region, Kapil Mahtani, CEO, Tresmode said, “We intend to slowly expand in the North and later in the South. We prefer expanding the brand zonally rather than aggressively opening stores everywhere. In fact, regional management is much economical and easier. Also, the market in NCR region is highly organised.” Further adding Mahtani said that the NCR region market being mature have high possibilities for the brand to be well-consumed by customers. “The exposure to European styles and westernized look in footwear is sure to lure customers to shop from an Indian brand,” added Mahtani.
With the belief of delivering more value to a product, Mahtani's brand Tresmode has always blended international trends and styles in their merchandise. “We cater to a global Indian. So, we will design footwear keeping in mind the need of our customers. So, our range will differ from each zone. Sixty per cent will be similar whereas 30-40 per cent will be customised, according to the needs of the customers of a particular zone. For example, stores in the NCR region will have variety in high length boots in the autumn/winter collection, whereas in Mumbai, the brand will offer ankle length boots as weather conditions aren't that extreme as it is in New Delhi or the NCR region.” stressed Mahtani.
Throwing light on the investments for this fiscal, Mahtani said that around Rs.12 crore will be invested for opening new stores. Mahtani expects a a growth in the turnover by 40-50 per cent by the end of 2012-13. Apart from retailing through MBOs like Pantaloons, Shoppers Stop, Central, Lifestyle, to name a few, the brand will soon be targeting cities like Vizag, Jaipur, Amritsar and Bangalore.
Tresmode that believes word-of-mouth being their strongest marketing strategy, also plans to create a new marketing strategy especially for the NCR region, in order to make people aware about the brand and its offerings. The footwear for both men and women are available at an average price of Rs. 3500-4500.
